Katie Ostrom

Vice President, Development & Law Enforcement Torch Run at Special Olympics Northern California

Katie Ostrom has extensive work experience in the non-profit sector. Katie served as an Assistant Vice President, Development & Law Enforcement Torch Run at Special Olympics Northern California from November 2021 to the present. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Development Director from January 2020 to September 2022, Development Director from July 2014 to January 2020, and Development Manager from November 2012 to July 2014, all in the Law Enforcement Torch Run department at the same organization.

Before joining the Special Olympics, Katie worked at the San Luis Obispo County YMCA for nearly a decade. During their time there, they held various roles, including Administrative Director and San Luis Obispo Regional Director. In these roles, they were responsible for managing budgets, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to the CEO. Katie also handled accounts receivable, grant reporting, budget development, payroll support, and served as a liaison for special events. Additionally, Katie played a key role in collaborating with organizations, public sector entities, and businesses and implementing strategic plans aligned with current trends. Katie was involved in professional development, goal-setting, and the supervision of camp administration. Their tenure at the San Luis Obispo County YMCA lasted from September 2003 to April 2012.

Katie Ostrom obtained a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Katie attended the university from 2001 to 2005.
