Matt Aaron has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as President and CEO of Special Olympics Pennsylvania, where they lead the organization in using sports to empower individuals with intellectual disabilities. Prior to this, they served in the US Navy for 24 years and retired as a Navy Captain. Matt also worked as the Special Assistant to the President and CEO/Chief of Staff at Special Olympics, and as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton on the Organizational Change Team. Matt began their career as a Marketing Intern at Procter & Gamble in the Worldwide Strategic Planning Division of P&G Pharmaceuticals.

Matt Aaron's education history begins with their enrollment at the United States Naval Academy. Matt attended this institution from 1984 to 1988 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. Afterward, they furthered their education at the Naval Postgraduate School, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering (Avionics) from 1993 to 1994. Following their time at the Naval Postgraduate School, Matt Aaron attended the United States Naval Test Pilot School, where they completed Class 108 in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering in 1995. Lastly, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Nonprofit Management at the Yale School of Management, where they were enrolled from 2000 to 2002.
