Amanda Hernandez, LCSW, has a diverse work experience spanning from 2013 to the present. Amanda started their career as a Psychology Intern at The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Teen Court in 2013. Following that, in 2014, they worked as a Counselor and Case Manager at Aegis Treatment Centers and as an MSW Intern and Therapist at Alliance Gertz-ressler High School. In 2015, they continued their MSW Internship at Children's Institute.

In 2016, Amanda joined Special Service for Groups, where they held multiple roles over the years. Amanda started as a Psychotherapist and later became a Field Instructor. In 2019, they were promoted to Program Supervisor and in 2021 was further promoted to Clinical Supervisor. Currently, Amanda serves as a Clinical Program Manager at Special Service for Groups.

In 2020, they pursued private practice and worked as a Psychotherapist in their own private practice. Amanda's work experience demonstrates a strong background in therapy and counseling, ranging from addressing substance abuse issues to working with adolescents and families.

Amanda Hernandez, LCSW, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2011 to 2013. Amanda then went on to earn a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus on Mental health and Systems of Recovery from Mental Illness from the University of Southern California, completing their studies from 2014 to 2016.

In addition to their academic achievements, Hernandez has obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional skills. Amanda completed training in Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression, anxiety, and trauma at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health in September 2017. Amanda also received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the University of Southern California in September 2015, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Children's Institute, Inc. (CII) in September 2015. In September 2014, they obtained training in Motivational Interviewing at the University of Southern California.

Furthermore, Hernandez has completed the New Field Instructor Training program at USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work in February 2018. Amanda has also received certifications in Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS), Advance Training: Immigration Evaluations, Assessment and Treatment of Antisocial Personality Disorders and Psychopathy, De-Escalation Intervention and Afterward, and Recovery Oriented Cognitive Therapy for Psychosis (CT-R) Training.
