Matt Lawson

Matt Lawson is a Senior Scientist at Specialty Materials Inc. since August 2021, specializing in the enhancement of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactors for the manufacturing of boron fibers for aerospace applications. In addition to improving existing processes through data analysis, Matt manages all quality operations at the company, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Previously, Matt served as a PhD candidate at Boise State University from October 2015 to August 2021, focusing on Density Functional Theory (DFT) and atomic layer deposition (ALD) for their dissertation. Additional professional experiences include applying first-principles thermodynamics at Schrödinger, serving as a Level 1 Field Guide in South Africa, and managing operations as Head Bar Manager at Sotano. Matt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Boise State University.
