Michael Leung is a Co-Founder at Spect. Prior to that, they were an intern Display Engineer at Apple from June 2017 to September 2017. There, they constructed LightTools optical simulations and automated IQC&OQC testing protocol. Michael also coordinated with overseas vendors to synchronize and standardize testing (SOP), validate fixtures (GR&R), monitor results and provide reports.
Before Apple, Leung was a Co-founder at Lelantus Medical from January 2015 to December 2016. There, they designed, developed & prototyped a lung biopsy endoscope from concept to functional prototype. Michael also sought and received over $15,000 of non-dilutive capital for prototype development & testing from Johnson&Johnson, Johns Hopkins & OneStart.
Leung has also been a Graduate Student at Stanford University from September 2014 to March 2018 and a Technical Consultant at Medella Health from September 2013 to February 2014. Additionally, they were a Research Assisstant at Dalhousie University from August 2011 to August 2013.
Michael Leung has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nanotechnology Engineering with an Economics Minor from the University of Waterloo. Michael also did an exchange student program in Nanotechnology Engineering at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Michael has a Bilingual (French/English) Ontario Secondary School Diploma in Honours Math from Ste Famille, and they have certification from Udacity in Artificial Intelligence for Robotics and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
