Petur Orri Saemundsen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Petur Orri is the CEO and Founder of Sweeply since January 2019. Prior to that, from March 2016 to January 2019, they served as the CEO of Vizido. Petur also had a long tenure at Kolibri, where they held multiple roles including Chairman of the Board from October 2015 to March 2017 and CEO and Founder from May 2007 to October 2015. During their time at Kolibri, they successfully transformed the company from zero to over 20 employees with a turnover of 400M ISK. Petur Orri also developed the Digital Business Partner strategy, which is still active, and delivered customer-facing solutions for major Icelandic companies.

In addition, Petur has served as the Chairman of the Board at Agile Ísland ehf. from July 2014 to August 2016 and at Lean Ísland ehf. from November 2013 to August 2016. Prior to that, they worked as an Engineering Manager at Industria from February 2006 to May 2007, leading a team of 15 software developers and implementing modern product management processes. Petur Orri also worked as a Lecturer at Reykjavik University from January 2006 to May 2007.

Early in their career, Petur held the role of Technical Lead and Project Manager at Origo Iceland from August 2004 to February 2006, where they successfully delivered an internet banking solution for Kaupthing bank and introduced the first Scrum team in Iceland. Petur Orri also worked as a Software Developer at Islandsbanki from December 2000 to August 2004. Petur's experience in teaching includes being an Interim Lecturer and Project Leader at the University of Iceland - Háskóli Íslands from September 2003 to May 2004, where they developed teaching material, lectured, and provided project consulting.

Petur Orri Saemundsen began their education in 1996 at Reykjavik University, where they pursued preliminary studies in the Department of Preliminary Studies. Petur Orri completed this program in 1998. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2005, they attended Háskóli Íslands and obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science.
