Benjamin Yu MD PhD has a diverse work experience in the fields of medical informatics and genomics. Benjamin is currently serving as the Chief Informatics Officer at Humetrix. Prior to joining Humetrix, they held the position of Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Spectator Health and founded Narrative Clinical Informatics, where they served as the CEO.

Before their roles in the informatics industry, Benjamin worked at UC San Diego as a Faculty and Attending Physician in Dermatology and Medicine. During their time at UC San Diego, they conducted independent research on rare disease syndromes, specifically focusing on the RAS/MAPK pathway. Benjamin utilized various cutting-edge technologies and techniques to identify biomarkers and novel systems.

Benjamin also worked as the Vice President of Medical Informatics & Genomics at Interpreta, where they led clinical strategy and oversaw patient analytics and AI/ML predictive analytics. Benjamin managed the development of proprietary algorithms, databases, and applications in areas such as population health management, genomics, and medication management.

Earlier in their career, Benjamin held positions at UC San Francisco as a Faculty and Attending Physician in Dermatology and as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Benjamin also completed a residency in Dermatology and an internship in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Throughout their career, Benjamin has made significant contributions to the fields of medical informatics, genomics, and dermatology, showcasing their expertise in both clinical practice and research.

Dr. Benjamin Yu completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at UCLA from 1987 to 1991. Benjamin then pursued further education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where they obtained both their M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in Immunology from 1991 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, Dr. Yu also holds several certifications related to biomedical research and clinical practices, which they obtained through the CITI Program. These certifications include Key Personnel - COI, Data or Specimens Only Research, CITI Good Clinical Practice, and Biomedical Research Certification, which were obtained in various months of 2021 and 2022.
