Pelham Keahey, PhD has extensive research and engineering experience in various prestigious institutions. Pelham is currently working as an Upstream Product Manager at SpectraWAVE, Inc. Since 2018, they have served as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where they specialized in designing optical-molecular microscopy and imaging systems for cancer diagnostics. Pelham led all aspects of optical system design, programming of image processing algorithms, development of imaging protocols, and data analysis. Pelham also developed a novel nanophotonic technique for imaging the lymphatic system in living tissues. Before that, from 2012 to 2018, Pelham worked as a PhD candidate at Rice University. Pelham led the invention of a low-cost medical device for diagnosing and monitoring neonatal jaundice and designed fluorescence microendoscope systems for point-of-care cancer diagnosis. Pelham also acted as the voice of customer and clinical interface for improving patient care in resource-limited settings. Additionally, Pelham worked as a Control Systems Engineer at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory from 2010 to 2012. Pelham gained research experience as a Research Intern at the University of Muenster in 2009, where they developed particle collision simulations and assisted in building a portion of the transition radiation detector module for the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Similarly, in 2008, Pelham served as a Research Intern at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Pelham Keahey, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Physics from Rice University, where they studied from 2012 to 2018. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics at Southwestern University, spanning from 2006 to 2010. In 2009, Pelham participated in a Study Abroad program at the University of Sussex, although the field of study for this program was not specified.
