Joe McKinney

DSP Engineer at Spectric Labs

Joe McKinney has been working in the engineering field since 2001. Joe began their career at Trios Associates as a Program Engineer, where they were responsible for modeling VHF radio coverage, recommending site/facility placement for standardized VHF configurations, conducting market surveys, and developing technical documents. In 2004, they joined Raytheon as a Senior System Engineer and was tasked with development and analysis of simulations and models for various algorithms and subsystems/components. From 2008 to 2014, Joe worked at Northrop Grumman as an Electrical Engineer IV, where they were involved in communications systems development, RF link analysis, and design/systems engineering. In 2015, they moved to BIT Systems as a DSP Engineer, where they developed novel jamming techniques, implemented functionality in XM primitives and macros, and developed a half band filter based sub-band tuner in VHDL. Joe is currently employed at Spectric Labs as a DSP Engineer.

Joe McKinney received a Master of Science in Electrical (Communications) Engineering from The George Washington University from 2002 to 2004. Joe also received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University from 1997 to 2001. Joe pursued an Engineer Degree in Signal Processing and Communications Engineering from George Mason University from 2006 to 2010.
