Marie Torres is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism and editorial leadership. Currently serving as Managing Editor at Spectrum Networks since January 2023, Marie leads a team of Multimedia Journalists in producing impactful stories that resonate with the diverse communities of North Carolina. As Co-Founder and Chief Diversity Officer of Carolina Black Media™ since August 2020, Marie champions diversity in media. Previous roles include serving as President of NABJ-Raleigh Durham from October 2019 to October 2023, Executive Producer at Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable) from May 2016 to January 2023, and various news production roles at WTKR-TV, WHIG TV, and WNVN News. Marie holds a degree in Media Studies, focusing on Electronic News and Documentary from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
