Operations Manager at SPEE3D

Richard Wong has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Richard is currently working as an Operations Manager at SPEE3D since August 2021. Prior to that, they served as the National Projects Manager at Headland Machinery from June 2019 to July 2021.

Richard has a long association with Headland Machinery Pty Ltd, where they held the position of National Operations Manager from November 2006 to June 2019. In this role, they led the Spare Parts Department, focused on increasing spare parts sales, supporting machine service business, and improving service and spare parts profitability. Richard was responsible for planning and managing resources and logistics for nationwide machine installation projects.

Richard's experience also includes working as a Purchasing Manager at APV Automotive in September 2006. Richard briefly served in this role for two months.

Before joining APV Automotive, Richard held the position of Customer Service Manager at Wickman Machine Tools from October 1999 to August 2006. In this role, they played a pivotal role in growing the service business and improving profitability. Richard effectively managed the national scheduling of service engineers, contractors, and procurement of subcontractor services, tooling, spare parts, and consumables.

Richard began their career as a Lecturer at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in September 1989. Richard worked in this role for eight years until September 1997.

Richard also has experience as a Purchasing/Material Manager at Kozma Industries Pty Ltd from October 1997 to October 1999. In this capacity, they supported the General Manager in formulating business plans and sales budgets, implemented VA/VE analysis in material sourcing, and oversaw the logistics system for incoming material and outgoing finished goods.

Richard Wong completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Heriot-Watt University from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they pursued a M.Sc. in Manufacturing Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering from Coventry University from 1988 to 1989.
