Shawn May

Shawn May has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Shawn began their career in 1983, serving in various roles within the U.S. Coast Guard, where they gained experience in ship-side and shore-side communications. In 1984, they transitioned to working as a contractor, selling and installing various communication equipment for local businesses and offshore oilfields. After that, they worked at Petrocom LLC (later renamed Broadpoint) from 1998 to 2007, specializing in offshore communications and cellular technologies.

In 2007, Shawn became the Principal at PTS Technologies Inc. Later, they joined Orbit Communication Systems as a Support Manager, overseeing support operations in the Americas and managing marine inventory. Shawn then joined MTN Satellite Communications in 2011, handling special projects until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Satcom Engineer and Operations Engineering Manager at Harris CapRock Communications. In 2016, Shawn became a business owner, establishing PTSTech, DBA Dereal Mystical, a cruise and resort wear clothing store based in South Florida.

Shawn'smost recent role, starting in 2017, is with Speedcast. Currently, they serve as the Director of Technology RF Systems and also holds the position of Operations Engineering Manager. Overall, Shawn May's work experience spans a range of industries, with a focus on telecommunications, technology, and management roles.

Shawn May studied Communications from 1984 to 2013, and later attended O3B Systems in 2014.
