Evelyn Flynn has had a diverse work experience. Evelyn started their career as an International Cooperation Officer at Universidade de Lisboa in September 2013 and worked there until March 2014. Evelyn then became a Trainee Translator at Wohanka, Obermaier & Koll. GmbH from April 2014 to August 2014. Evelyn joined Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP in July 2015 as an Immigration Coordinator specializing in immigration to Angola, Saudi Arabia, UK, and Ireland. Their responsibilities included liaising with various parties, drafting visa and work permit applications, and database management. In November 2017, Evelyn moved to EY as an Immigration Consultant and worked there until August 2019. During their time at EY, they gained experience in immigration services. In 2019, Evelyn took on a role as a Trainee Developer at TechReturners, where they completed a full-stack course and worked on a final project using Agile methodology. Currently, Evelyn works as a Software Engineer at Spektrix, where they are part of the Client Impact team responsible for resolving system issues and bugs for clients in the arts and theatre industry using the Spektrix solution for ticketing, marketing, and fundraising. Evelyn has completed OWASP training and collaborates on the payments software. Additionally, their role involves dealing with incidents, enhancing legacy code, and adding test coverage.
Evelyn Flynn's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in German and Portuguese from the University of Leeds, which they obtained from 2010 to 2015. During their time as a student, Evelyn also participated in an Erasmus program at the University of Lisbon from 2012 to 2013, where they studied Languages, History, Literature, and European Studies. In 2012, they attended Leipzig University for a DSH course (German as a foreign language) as well as Phonetics and Grammar studies. Additionally, Evelyn has obtained various certifications, including PCI compliance from the OWASP Foundation in November 2020, Dinner and Devops from Tech Returners in April 2020, and an Advanced Ruby Web Development Course from Code First: Girls in December 2018. Evelyn further obtained a BSL (British Sign Language) Level One certification in March 2012. Most recently, they acquired the Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate certification in December 2021. Additionally, Evelyn participated in the Language and Culture Summer School 2013 at the Universität Vechta.
