Spelman College
Kathleen Phillips Lewis is a seasoned academic with a long-standing tenure at Spelman College since August 1994, currently serving as the Division Chair of Humanities and Associate Professor of Caribbean History. In this role, Kathleen teaches a variety of courses, including Caribbean History, Modern European History, Historical Methods, World History, and Senior Thesis, while also directing the Spelman/UWI Summer Study Abroad Program and developing additional Caribbean Study/Research Abroad initiatives. Prior to Spelman College, Kathleen served as a Lecturer at the University of the West Indies from 1987 to 1994. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Manitoba, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus.
