James Veck

James Veck has extensive experience in safety and compliance roles. James is currently the Corporate Safety Director at Spencer Construction, LLC, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Safety and DOT Manager at TuSimple from December 2021. Previously, they held the same role at Spencer Construction, LLC from November 2019 to December 2021. Before transitioning to the private sector, James worked as the Southern Regional Safety Consultant at the Arizona Department of Transportation from 2017 to 2019. James also gained experience as an OSHA Compliance Officer at OSHA from 2016 to 2018, and as a Safety Specialist at the City of Tucson from 2006 to 2016.

James Veck's education history includes attending UC San Diego from 2014 to 2018, where they studied Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering. James also received training in Environmental/Environmental Health and Safety from the US Department of Labor OSHA Training Institute from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they studied Professional, Technical, Business, and Scientific Writing at Pima Community College from 2014 to 2015, and Environmental Science at Kirkwood Community College from 2004 to 2005. James Veck earned an Associate's degree in Business from Parks College from 1993 to 1995. James has also obtained certifications such as CMGS from IASHEP in 2017, Safety Management Specialist (SMS) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in 2016, and OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer from the US Deparment of Labor in 2014. James also holds an Educator Certification Clearance Card, and has completed OSHA Authorized Construction Industry Trainer training at the University of California San Diego.
