Stefan Aeschlimann has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Stefan most recently served as the Head of Strategic Development at Speno International SA since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Siemens Mobility SAS as a Project Manager for Driverless Rolling Stock from April 2017 to May 2019. Stefan also held the position of Deputy Project Manager for Driverless Rolling Stock at Siemens SAS, Mobility Division, Urban Transport from March 2015 to March 2017. Stefan's earlier experiences include roles such as Rolling Stock Manager for ATC Systems at Siemens SAS, Mobility Division, Mobility Management from August 2013 to February 2015, and Train Architect Rolling Stock at Alstom Transport SA from November 2012 to July 2013. Stefan started their career at Siemens SAS France as a Senior Project Engineer for Rolling Stock from July 2008 to October 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Speno International S.A. from June 1998 to July 2008. Stefan also gained experience as an Engineer/Designer at Bucher-Guyer AG in the Urban Utility Vehicle Division from November 1994 to April 1998 and as a Mechanical Designer in the Department for Agricultural & Urban Technology Design at Bucher-Guyer AG from April 1987 to October 1991. Stefan'searly career included a role as a Mechanical Designer at Pilatus Flugzeugwerke AG from November 1985 to June 1986.

Stefan Aeschlimann began their education in 1981 at the Technical Secondary School Diploma, Vocational School in Lucerne, Switzerland. Stefan earned a Combined Habilitation Diploma in Mechanical Design Engineering upon completion of this program in 1985. Stefan then pursued a Mechanical Engineering Degree at the Engineering School of Bale, Switzerland, from 1991 to 1994, ultimately receiving a Swiss degree "Grad. Ing. UAS" equivalent to "Ingenieur HTL". Between 1995 and 1998, Stefan attended the Polytechnical University/Engineering School of Brugg-Windisch in Switzerland where they focused on Business-Oriented Action in Technology & Organization. In 2002 and 2006, they attended the VDI Knowledge Forum in Düsseldorf, Germany, earning certificates in Claim Management and Mechanical Engineering respectively.
