Jay Blackington

Jay Blackington is the Vice President of People Strategy and Culture at Spero Therapeutics. Jay has been with the company since October 2018 and has played a key role in establishing the company's culture.

Prior to joining Spero Therapeutics, Jay was with a different biotech company where they cultivated an engaging best places to work culture built on a foundation of collaboration and community. Jay was also a key member of the executive leadership team that created and executed an organizational aligned people-first strategy. This experience has helped him build a comprehensive remote talent acquisition model, onboarding, and new employee experience at Spero Therapeutics.

Under Jay's leadership, the company has been able to scale by 200% to the next inflection stage of growth. Jay has also provided support and guidance to the Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Group and the Culture Club.

Jay Blackington has a Master’s Degree in Management from Lesley University and a Bachelor of Science in Management - Human Resources from UMass Boston.

Jay Blackington reports to Ankit Mahadevia, President & CEO . They are on a team with Tamara Joseph - Chief Legal Officer, Michael Pucci - Executive Director Early Drug Discovery, and David Musselman - SVP, Sales & Market Access.
