Ajay Cherian

Ajay Cherian has extensive work experience in various roles within the oil and gas industry. Ajay began their career as a Mechanical Engineer at Daelim Engg. in 1997 and then worked as a Sales Engineer at Mohammad Bin Yousif Al Nisf Co. in 2000. In 2000, they joined Safwan Petroleum Technologies and steadily rose through the ranks to become the Manager of Projects & Technical Support. During this time, they led the successful delivery of four BOO facility projects with a combined contract value of $500 million.

In 2010, Ajay joined Enerflex Middle East LLC as the Country Manager for Oman. In this role, they were responsible for the country's P&L and played a key role in delivering two operational projects.

In 2014, they joined Exterran Eastern Hemisphere as the Director of International Sales & Business Development, where they were accountable for international sales and strategy for oil and gas product line sales. During their tenure, they achieved significant sales bookings growth of $300 million and expanded the client base.

Their most recent position was as the Executive Vice President at Spetco International Petroleum Co. (Safwan Technologies) starting in 2016. In this leadership role, they successfully executed a BOO Capital Project valued at $500 million and drove continuous improvement in safety culture, execution efficiency, technology implementation, cost optimization, and profitability in projects. Ajay also established and monitored KPIs and goals for the BOO Capital Projects division.

Throughout their career, Ajay has demonstrated strong leadership skills, project management expertise, and a track record of driving growth and profitability.

Ajay Cherian earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mangalore University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. The degree focused on the field of study in Mechanical Engineering.
