Chris McKenna

Chris McKenna is currently an advisor at Spherical Analytics. Prior to that, they were a software development research engineer at the LESA Center from January 2019 to May 2020. Through a grant from the National Science Foundation and the RPI ECSE Department, Chris worked on a project for the Lighting Enabled Systems & Applications Engineering Research Center, which is dedicated to developing autonomous intelligent systems, to address modern challenges in the connected environment. Chris's project involved the area of autonomous HVAC control for smart buildings, in which they integrated occupant localization, optimized system controls, implemented and evaluated an integrated system for collecting user preferences, and worked on an efficient data-driven learning and MPC smart HVAC personalization algorithm, for cohabited work spaces. Prior to their work at the LESA Center, Chris was a software engineer intern at Leidos from May 2018 to August 2018.

Chris McKenna attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with concentrations in Artificial Intelligence and Data, Systems and Software. Chris also attended Bishop Connolly High School.
