Karolina Szczesna-Brost

Karolina Szczesna-Brost has extensive work experience in the field of product management and research. Karolina is currently the Head of Product Management at SphingoTec, a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Global Product Portfolio Manager at SphingoTec from May 2020 to March 2022. Before joining SphingoTec, Karolina worked at Proteintech Group as a Senior Product Manager and Technical Support from December 2018 to May 2020, and as a Product Manager and Technical Support from October 2016 to December 2018. Karolina also worked at Axol Bioscience Ltd. as a Product Manager from March 2016 to August 2016. During their career, Karolina has held various roles at Biotalentum Consulting, Biotalentum ltd, University of Cambridge, The University of Manchester, IDIBELL, Academic Medical Center (AMC), and Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC).

Karolina Szczesna-Brost's education history is as follows:

From 2005 to 2010, Karolina attended Jagiellonian University where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biotechnology. Following this, they continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from 2007 to 2010.

Karolina pursued further education and attended Universitat de Barcelona from 2010 to 2014, where they successfully completed their PhD cum laude in Biomedicine.

In 2018, Karolina obtained the Cambridge English: Business Higher (BEC Higher) certification from Cambridge Assessment. This was followed by a Diploma in Professional Marketing: Driving Innovation from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2019-2020.

Karolina also holds several additional certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from ASQ - World Headquarters in 2023 and 2022 respectively. Karolina also obtained a certification in Post-market Surveillance and Vigilance under the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and In Vitro Diagnostics Medical Devices Regulation (IVDR) from BSI in 2022. In 2018, they acquired the Product Manager Qualification- Business to Business certification as well as The digital marketer success journey masterclass certification, both from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Furthermore, Karolina obtained the PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2016.

Additionally, Karolina has earned various certifications throughout their education, which include ChIP-seq on the Ion Torrent platform; ChIP and MedIP analysis from Diagenode in 2012, FELASA 002/03, ESCOLA DE POSTGRAU, Laboratory Animal Science from UAB - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2011, and the GOETHE-ZERTIFIKAT C1 from Goethe Institut Warschau in 2003.
