Övünç Okyay

Övünç Okyay has a wide range of work experience in various industries. Övünç is currently the Managing Director at LG Capital AG, where they focus on identifying and investing in talented founding teams and supports them in building successful companies. In 2017, they co-founded Spiden, a company dedicated to developing medical technologies that monitor health indicators for timely and individualized diagnostics. Övünç is also a co-founder and board member of Caeli Nova since 2017, involved in developing products that improve human oxygenation in critical circumstances.

Prior to these roles, Övünç worked as an Advisor at The Carlyle Group, specializing in mid-market growth investments in healthcare, education, and retail sectors. Övünç also held the positions of Senior Associate at The Carlyle Group's Carlyle MENA Partners, where they focused on mid-market growth investments, and Equity Research Associate at Morgan Stanley. Before that, Övünç worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company.

In 2015, Övünç co-founded IIG Istanbul Investment Group, an independent private equity firm that invests in mid-market growth and buyout opportunities in Turkey. Övünç played the role of Vice President in the firm.

Övünç Okyay has a strong educational background in various fields. Övünç began their education in 1996 at Izmir Fen Lisesi, where they completed their secondary education. Övünç then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Boğaziçi University from 1999 to 2003. Following that, they continued their studies at Technische Universität Berlin, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Production Engineering from 2003 to 2006. Övünç Okyay further enhanced their education by attending Columbia Business School from 2009 to 2010, where they obtained an MBA with a focus on Finance and Private Equity.
