Allison Romanyshyn

Senior Director, Community Engagement & Chief Inclusion Officer at SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics

Allison Romanyshyn has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Allison began their career at the Peace Corps in 1988 as an Instructor, where they developed and directed a small enterprise development project. In 1991, they joined Builders Alliance as a Marketing Manager, where they played a key role in budget development and the shift to direct marketing. In 1997, Romanyshyn started working at SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. Their roles at SPIE included Manager of Online Products, Manager of Digital Library Sales & Subscriber Relations, Director of Administration, and most recently, Senior Director of Community Engagement & Chief Inclusion Officer. In their current role, they are responsible for overseeing governance, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, as well as managing administrative and operational activities.

Allison Romanyshyn obtained a Masters degree in Adult Education from Western Washington University, where they studied from 1993 to 1995. Allison later pursued Executive Education at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business from 2015 onwards. Additionally, they are currently pursuing Executive Education at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business since 2020.
