Bill Smith

Bill Smith is a member and chair of the Intellectual Property Group at Spilman Thomas & Battle, PLLC, since November 2015, focusing on representing innovation and technology companies in patent, trademark, and copyright matters, as well as patent infringement litigation. Prior experience includes serving as a patent attorney at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC from March 2005 to November 2015, and earlier roles as an attorney at DKW Law Group and as an engineer at Mellon Bank NA and BONY Mellon. Bill Smith commenced a career in engineering at various organizations, including a position as an electrical engineer at Consol Energy. Bill Smith earned a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and attended the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University for legal education.
