Dr. James L. Chappuis

Founder and CEO at Spine Center Atlanta

Dr. James Chappuis has extensive work experience in the medical field. In 1991, they founded and became CEO of the Spine Center Atlanta, where they managed and oversaw surgical and nonsurgical treatments and rehabilitation. In 1998, Dr. Chappuis completed an AO Spine Fellowship in Karlsbad, Germany. Most recently, in 2014, they founded and became CEO of the Westside Cultural Arts Center, a gallery and event space that has played a vital role in the development of Atlanta's West Midtown neighborhood.

Dr. James Chappuis completed their education in a chronological order. Dr. James first earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General from The University of Toledo in 1977. Dr. James then obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Medical College of Ohio, year unspecified.

Continuing their education, Dr. Chappuis completed an Internship at Mercy Hospital from 1980 to 1981. Following this, they pursued a General Surgery Residency Program at Methodist Hospital, which they completed from 1981 to 1982. Dr. Chappuis then enrolled in the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine, where they studied from 1983 to 1985.

Additionally, Dr. Chappuis obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1980, they obtained their Tennessee Medical License from The Tennessee Board of Medicine. In 1987, they acquired their Georgia Medical License from The Georgia Composite Medical Board. Dr. Chappuis obtained their Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1989. Dr. James became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) in 1991. Lastly, they obtained their Florida Medical License from The Florida Board of Medicine, year unspecified.
