Joel Spark

Joel Spark is the Chief Satellite Architect at Spire. Joel has also worked as an intern at EADS Astrium Germany, a research assistant at Carleton University, and a news editor at SpaceSafetyMagazine.com. Joel began their career as a Jr. Mechanical Designer at Mechtronix Systems Inc.

Joel Spark’s work as an intern at EADS Astrium Germany focused on space mechanisms. Joel was responsible for the design and verification of actuation control systems to be used on 3-axis infinite rotational displacement simulators. Joel also applied technology developed in previous years on small-scale models to full-scale prototypes and submitted system requirements, technical memos, design reports, and design proposals.

As a research assistant at Carleton University, Joel Spark coordinated the manufacturing and assembly of Atlas prototype simulators. Joel was also responsible for the design and verification of actuation control systems to be used on 3-axis infinite rotational displacement simulators. In addition, they applied technology developed in previous years on small-scale models to full-scale prototypes and submitted system requirements, technical memos, design reports, and design proposals.

Joel Spark has a Bachelor of Engineering from Carleton University, with a specialization in structures, systems, and vehicle design. Joel also has a Masters of Space Management from the International Space University.
