Philip Jales

Philip Jales is a seasoned professional in the field of Earth intelligence and GNSS engineering, currently serving as the Director of Earth Intelligence and GNSS-Reflectometry Mission Lead Engineer at Spire since November 2018. Prior to this role, Philip worked as a Senior GNSS Engineer at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) from 2011 to 2018, where expertise in systems, DSP, FPGA (VHDL), flight and ground software was developed, contributing to advancements in GNSS receivers for navigation, timing, remote sensing, and satellite systems. Philip holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Spaceborne receiver design for scatterometric GNSS reflectometry from the University of Surrey, and a Master of Physics (MPhys) degree from The University of Manchester.
