A proud Marylander and Morgan State University graduate, Alex (also known as Bob) has expertise managing long- and short-term projects across the country. Spitfires rely on Alex as a team organizer, keeping projects on budget, and maintaining rigorous project timelines. He applies his creative eye and action-oriented mindset to find thoughtful solutions for problems small and big, and sometimes unexpected. As a Black Queer man, he is often inspired by the many Black leaders and heroes in his hometown and alma mater. Those influences positively shaped his values of justice, community service, and hard work as he strives to make the world a better place for future generations.
As Spitfire’s Learning Program Specialist, Alex assists with the development and implementation of Spitfire’s internal and external training for organization staff, foundation grantees, and nonprofit executive leaders. Alex does it all, from crafting training concepts and pre-program planning to engaging and maintaining client and vendor relationships, managing budgets, and developing runs-of-show for major training. He handles those responsibilities, all while coordinating logistical details and crafting all necessary event collateral and materials. From conception to execution, Alex is the go-to Spitfire. He also helps create marketing strategies and social media content for clients like the Council on Foundations and Narrative Initiative. His digital knowledge and event planning skills help their partners spark meaningful social change for their organizations and communities.
