Project Engineer Intern

Founded in 1977, S+B James Construction has been setting the standard for excellence in healthcare, education, life sciences, commercial, retail, industrial, and public works construction in Southern Oregon and Northern California. S+B James is client-focused and service oriented, offering a wide range of both design and construction services that result in high quality projects. 

We are currently looking for Summer Interns who are highly motivated and passionate about construction.  Our Interns will work closely with all members of the project team gaining a hands-on opportunity to learn what a career in construction is all about!

Intern duties are dependent on education and skill level, as well as project status, and may include the follow:

Position Responsibilities: 

• Assist project team with General Contract and Subcontract administration

• Exposure to Construction Scheduling

• Material & Equipment – procurement and expediting

• Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination

• Participation in and documentation of project coordination meetings

• Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment

• Maintenance of As-Built plans

• Exposure to and monitoring of quality control

• Monitor and document job-site safety and accident prevention

Position Qualifications: 

• Student currently working towards Bachelors degree, preferably in Construction Management or Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Valid interest in pursuing a career in Project Management required
• General knowledge of construction principles/processes
