Andy Cissna

Andrew Cissna is an experienced lighting designer and educator, currently serving as Production Manager and Technical Supervisor at Spoleto Festival USA since 2011, and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland since August 2017, contributing to the Maya Brin Institute for New Performance. Cissna also lectures in the graduate lighting design program at the University of Maryland School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. Previous roles include Lighting Supervisor at Atlas Performing Arts Center, Freelance Lighting Designer for various organizations including Washington Savoyards and Adventure Theatre, and Master Electrician for Spoleto Festival USA. Education includes a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Lighting Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
