President/CEO at Sporian Microsystems

Brian Schaible has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering and technology fields. From 1990 to 1994, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer at North Island Naval Aviation Depot, where they were responsible for engineering investigations and failure analyses on failed aircraft components, developing and evaluating design improvements, and providing technical assistance and customer support to F/A-18 users. From 1994 to 1999, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Packaging of Microwave, Optical and Digital Electronics, where they researched flip chip bonding processes, stud bump bond interconnect reliability in chip scale/flip chip packages using FEM, optimization, control, and parameter ranking techniques. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics. In 2000, they founded Sporian Microsystems, Inc., where they have served as President/CEO and has been involved in all aspects of start-up and day-to-day operations. Brian'sresearch areas include wireless sensor networking, ultra-low power sensors, sensor systems for Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and Prognostic Health Management (PHM), biological and chemical sensors for monitoring water and air, and sensors for harsh, high temperature environments (1000+ degrees C).

Brian Schaible completed their undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1989. Brian then pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 1995. Finally, they earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1999.
