Tim Blackmore PhD has a diverse work experience in various roles related to data science and research. Tim is currently serving as the Head of Data Science at Sportlight Technology since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Data Analyst at IP Flow from 2021 to 2022, where they developed enterprise-level modeling solutions using XG Boost and utilized SQL for data processing. Before that, from 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Lead Researcher at Guided Knowledge, where they developed classification models and created data products for identifying swing faults in golf swings.
Tim also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Portsmouth from 2017 to 2019, where they conducted research on breast density and developed regression models for bra support prediction. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Biomechanist at Guided Knowledge in 2015, where they supported the development of a biomechanics department and developed data collection and analysis procedures.
Tim started their career as a Research Officer at the Australian Catholic University in 2013, where they contributed to the development of novel methods for analyzing biomechanical data and reduced staff workload through the creation of a web platform. Tim also served as a Technical Officer during their time at the university, providing technical support and coordination across multiple laboratories.
Tim Blackmore PhD completed their education in a chronological order. Tim first attended the University of Portsmouth from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science. Tim then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Sports Performance from the University of Portsmouth from 2008 to 2009.
Afterward, they enrolled at Solent University from 2009 to 2010 and earned a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Research Methods. In the same university, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sports Biomechanics, which they successfully completed from 2009 to 2014.
