Patrick Andres

Patrick Andres is a seasoned sports writer with extensive experience in both breaking news and feature reporting. Currently serving as a Breaking News Writer for Sports Illustrated since December 2022, Patrick covers major sports leagues, producing multiple stories daily and tackling significant events such as Damar Hamlin’s in-game collapse. Previously, as a Bowling Green Beat Writer for The Blade, Patrick gained recognition for breaking key stories, including the firing of the athletic director. Earlier roles included a reporting internship at Sports Illustrated and various editorial positions at The Daily Northwestern, where Patrick contributed to in-depth sports coverage and managed a significant digital project on Northwestern's greatest sporting events.
