Tom Cooney is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Group Communications Director at The Sports Marketing Group (SMG) since November 2018. SMG, founded in 2017 and based in London, specializes in the motorsports industry, particularly Formula 1, while also expanding into e-sports. Prior to joining SMG, Tom held various roles including Director of Communications at KHP Consulting and Senior Account Manager at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. With a diverse background that encompasses marketing and public relations, Tom has also contributed as a freelance writer for The Irish Times. Tom's academic credentials include a BA in English and History from University College Dublin, a MA in American Studies from the University of East Anglia, and a Certificate in Marketing Skills from the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
