Ruslans Platonovs

Ruslans Platonovs has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Ruslans has worked at various companies, including Sportserve, BetVictor, C.T.Co, Self Employed, Exigen Services, and Transporta un sakaru institūts.

At Sportserve, Ruslans currently holds the position of Head of Development, starting in August 2021.

At BetVictor, Ruslans held multiple roles over a period of 10 years. Ruslans started as a Java Developer in November 2011, where they contributed to promotions engine design and implementation, event monitoring application development, and integration with horse race streaming providers. Ruslans then became the Casino and Integrations Development Team Lead in January 2013, managing a team responsible for system analysis, architecture design, implementation, and collaboration with other development teams. Ruslans later took on the role of Sportsbook Development Team Leader in March 2016, leading a backend development team and overseeing the delivery of flagship products. Ruslans continued in this role until August 2021.

Prior to their time at BetVictor, Ruslans worked at C.T.Co as a Lead Java Developer and later as a Java Developer. During their time there, they worked on projects in the reinsurance area, leading development teams, and utilizing Java, Spring, Hibernate, ZK, Axis WS, and Business Objects XI SDK.

Ruslans also spent some time as a self-employed IT consultant and software developer, where they worked on various software and website development projects using Java, PHP, HTML, and JavaScript. Additionally, they worked as a Java Developer at Exigen Services, where they developed multimedia workflow portals and reporting infrastructures for clients such as Sony BMG and Universal.

Ruslans began their career as an Assistant at the Chair of Computer Networks at Transporta un sakaru institūts, where they lectured on Integrated Service Digital Networks and Mobile Networks courses.

Before starting their professional career, Ruslans worked as a freelance web designer and programmer.

Ruslans Platonovs began their education at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) in 2001, where they pursued a Baccalaureate of Natural Sciences in Computer Science. Ruslans completed this degree in 2005. Following this, they continued their education at TSI and obtained a Master of Natural Sciences in Computer Science in 2008.

In terms of additional certifications, Ruslans obtained the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) SE 5 certification from Sun in December 2008. Ruslans later completed Advanced Maven Training from Sonatype in September 2012. In March 2014, they obtained the M101J: MongoDB for Java Developers certification from MongoDB, Inc. Most recently, in September 2019, Ruslans completed the course "Learn How To Code: Google's Go (golang) Programming Language" from Udemy, taught by Todd McLeod.
