Martin Jr Powlette has over three years of professional experience in software engineering and development. Martin Jr began their career in 2018 as a Designer and Developer at Humber College, where they designed and developed a GIS web application for the Healthy Kids Community Challenge project. In 2019, they joined Nascent as a Software Developer, where they worked on the My TELUS iOS app with over one million active users. Martin Jr implemented a redesigned experience for the user's primary dashboard, with an emphasis on polished interactions, accessibility, and code maintainability. Later that year, they joined PlayOff as a Creator, Designer, and Developer, where they wrote the app in Swift and employed system frameworks such as Core Bluetooth, MediaPlayer, ITLibrary, and Apple Script. In 2021, they joined Flipp as a Software Engineer, where they introduced new technologies and workflow enhancements such as Xcode Previews, SwiftUI, and DocC-based documentation. Martin Jr also introduced Xcode Cloud to diversify their CI and surface/resolve issues with their self-hosted, Github Actions based pipeline. Currently, they are a Senior Engineer I, iOS at SpotHero.

Martin Jr Powlette attended St. Mary's College in St. Lucia from 2010 to 2015 and Humber College from 2016 to 2019, where they obtained an Advanced Diploma in Web Design and Interactive Media with a focus in Computer Programming/Programmer, General.
