Mari Matoba is an experienced professional in consumer insights and marketing, currently serving as the Head of Advocacy in Business Marketing at Spotify since November 2019 and as a Board Member at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music since June 2020. Prior to these roles, Mari worked as a freelance consumer insights consultant from August 2017 to June 2023, providing expertise to various clients in media and market research. Previous positions include Senior Director of Research & Insights at Hearst Digital Media, Director of Consumer Insights at Refinery29, and Strategy & Insight Manager at the Financial Times. Mari holds a BA in Media Studies and English from Mills College and an MA in Media Studies from The New School.
