Sonia Bhaskar

Sonia Bhaskar is a seasoned expert in machine learning and data science, currently serving as a Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager at Spotify since July 2020, overseeing three teams focused on recommendations. Previously, Sonia held the position of Staff Machine Learning Engineer, specializing in personalization and customer lifetime value. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Data Scientist at Netflix from June 2016 to April 2020, where efforts were concentrated on streaming science and algorithms. Early in academia, Sonia worked as a Research Assistant at Stanford University from September 2012 to January 2016, with a focus on matrix completion, recommendation systems, and healthcare analytics.
