Sophy Cao

Sophy Cao is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in backend development, currently serving as a Senior Backend Engineer in Core Infrastructure at Spotify since December 2020. Previously, Sophy worked at Klarna as a Backend Engineer, focusing on abstracting and maintaining business logic in the company's core Erlang system. Prior to Klarna, Sophy contributed as a Backend Engineer at Derivco, specializing in implementing new backend services and managing legacy code using Elixir, Ruby, and Go. Initial professional experience includes multiple summer internships at Ericsson, where responsibilities encompassed developing and maintaining applications, writing test cases, and visualizing workflows. Sophy holds a Master’s degree in Computer System Science from Stockholm University and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and Management from the University of Gothenburg, complemented by foundational education at Tongji University and High School Affiliated to Fudan University.
