Paolo Senes (he/him)

Paolo Senes is an entrepreneur and impact investor with experience in co-founding and leading sustainable businesses. Paolo has served as the Co-Founder, Impact Investor, Board Director, and Business Sustainability advisor to SMEs at Threa investments and advisory since 2010. In this role, they have invested in multiple companies focused on addressing ecological issues and has provided advisory services to support their sustainability journey. Additionally, they co-founded INBOARD Belgium, an academy for non-executive board directors.

In 2017, they became the Chairman and CFO of Spottitt, a company specializing in geospatial analytics for digital infrastructure management.

Paolo has also held positions such as Chairman of the Board at MTS Associated Markets and Chairman of the Board & owner, previously CEO, at Optimize Group.

Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Paolo worked in trading, sales, and project management for WestLB in London and ING and other companies.

Paolo Senes has an extensive education history that spans several decades. In 1987, they began their studies at Università Bocconi, where they pursued a Master's degree in Economics. Paolo completed this program in 1993.

After a few years, Paolo returned to their studies and enrolled at INSEAD in 2001. During their time there, they earned an MBA with a focus on Business Administration and Management in the same year.

In the following years, Paolo continued to pursue their education in various fields related to leadership and sustainability. In 2011, they completed a program at INSEAD called The Challenge of Leadership (COL), which emphasized leadership skills. In 2013 and 2014, they attended the INBOARD - Academy for non Executive Board Directors, where they received training in board management skills.

Paolo also engaged in executive education at SDA Bocconi in 2017, specializing in Change Management. In 2019, they took several digital education courses focused on Sustainability Studies at various institutions, including HarvardX, Wageningen University & Research, The University of Queensland, SDGAcademyX, and DelftX (an online learning initiative of Delft University of Technology). Paolo furthered their knowledge in Sustainability Studies through additional digital education programs at Imperial College London (2019-2020), Erasmus University Rotterdam (2020), University of Geneva (2020), and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2020).

Continuing their dedication to Sustainability Studies, Paolo pursued digital education programs at Gaia Education & Ecosystem Restoration Camp in 2020-2021. Paolo further expanded their knowledge in the field through digital education programs at Erasmus University Rotterdam (2021), Lund University (2021), and The University of Edinburgh (2021).
