Deanna Kerekes has a diverse work experience. In 2020, they began working at Spring Loaded Technology as a Biomedical & Software Engineering Lead, Biomedical Engineer & Data Analyst, and Clinical Research Coordinator. From 2017-2018, they worked as a Lab Assistant at the University of Guelph Neurophysiology Lab, completing an 8-month research project titled: The Effect of Remote Electrical Subthreshold Noise on Skin Sensitivity in the Lower Extremity. In 2016, they worked as a Record Retention Analyst at St.Marys Cement. From 2014-2016, they worked as a Road Services Student Summer Position at Perth County Public Works, and from 2014-2020 they were a Varsity Cross Country/ Track & Field Athlete at the University of Guelph, University of Windsor, and University of Strathclyde.

Deanna Kerekes completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Guelph in 2018. Deanna then pursued their Master of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, which they completed in 2019. In 2020, Deanna started their Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering at the University of Guelph and is expected to complete it in 2021. Prior to their Bachelor's Degree, Deanna attended the University of Windsor for one year in 2013, studying General Engineering.
