Hope O'Donnell has worked in a variety of scientific roles since 2004. Hope began as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Northern Michigan University, where they studied the role of BAFF and Marginal Zone B cells in early influenza infection. In 2008, Hope began working as a Doctoral Student Researcher and Junior Scientist at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where they researched Apobec3B. In 2011, Hope moved to the University of California, Davis, where they continued their research on innate immune activation of Th1 cells during intracellular infection. In 2015, Hope became a Post-doctoral Fellow at Institut Pasteur, where they focused on the immune response and tissue destruction elicited in the plague bubo during Y. pestis infection. Finally, in 2018, Hope joined Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. as a Scientist I, where they explored the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of specific T cell receptors. In 2023, Hope began working as a Senior Scientist at Spring Discovery.
Hope O'Donnell received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a Microbiology concentration from Northern Michigan University in 2007. Hope then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology (MICaB) program at the University of Minnesota, which they completed in 2014.
