Zachary Barry has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. Zachary was a Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2009-2012, and then a Ph.D. Candidate in Biological Engineering from 2012-2017. In 2016, they were an Intern - Microscopy and Biophotonics (ASI) at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). Theirroles included developing software platforms for single-cell image analysis, delivering quantitative readouts of cell migration, and improving experimental design of microwell assays. Zachary was also an Investigator I and Investigator II at NIBR from 2017-2021. Theirroles included data science/quantitative methods development, highly-interactive data visualization techniques, and neural network and other machine learning-based approaches to microscopy and (video) image analysis. Currently, they are a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Spring Discovery.
Zachary Barry obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 2008 and 2012. Zachary then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2017.
