Dennise Porfirio (She/her)

Dennise Porfirio credits her dedication to the education field to her time in college where she saw the large educational disparities that existed among her peers and their geographical backgrounds. This led to her interest in the role of socioeconomic status and its ties to educational achievement and attainment particularly from a data perspective. Most recently her work has included working in educational nonprofits in the realm of data and systems. In addition, she recently finished a two year mentorship program with America Needs You.

Dennise holds a B.A from the University of California, Merced in Political Science and an M.A in Public Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Her favorite childhood book is Holes by Louis Sachar which introduced her to her now favorite genre of magical realism.
