Iralys Lopez (She/Her)

Program Director at Springboard Collaborative

Iralys Lopez was born into a family of Educators where the importance of education was instilled in her since she was a little girl. Iralys believes that education is the most important right that children have. Iralys is an alumnus of Teach for America and it was this program that led her to move from Puerto Rico to Philadelphia. Iralys holds a BA in Political Science with high honors from the University of Puerto Rico —where she learned multiple languages— and an M.S. in Urban Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania. Her favorite childhood book is The adventures of Juan Bobo— because through Juan Bobo’s adventures traditions and key aspects of Puerto Rican life are illustrated.
