Anna Mehrotra is the Director of the Wastewater Surveillance Program at the Water Environment Federation. Anna has over 17 years of experience in the environmental engineering field, with a focus on wastewater treatment and wastewater-based epidemiology. Anna has worked as a freelancer data visualization specialist, adjunct lecturer, senior project engineer, and technical lead.

Anna Mehrotra earned their PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Anna also holds an MS in Environmental Engineering and Science from Stanford University, and a BS in Math/Applied Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. Anna has a Certificate in Epidemiology for Public Health Professionals from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Anna is also certified as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Ohio.
