Brent Scoggins has been in the software engineering industry since 2001. Brent started their career at HCA as a Web Developer and DBA. In 2004, they moved to Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Developer, where they developed web applications and stand-alone executable applications with MS SQL Server 2000 databases, MS IIS web servers, and MS Windows 2000 Server application servers. In 2007, they joined Outdoor Central as Senior Developer, where they rewrote the license printing application for existing states. In 2008, they became Lead Developer at Walgreens' Take Care Health Systems, where they developed the division's first C# coding standards and SDLC. From 2011 to 2016, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer Contractor at Deloitte, where they converted an internal ASP.NET web application to be MVC based, backed by ASP.NET Web API solutions. In 2019, they joined EY as Development Services Manager and Senior Software Engineer Manager, where they led and worked with teams of offshore and onshore resources supporting multi-million dollar development efforts within the International Tax Services sub-service line. Brent also mentored developers within the teams regarding work efforts, development practices, and career goals. In the same year, they joined Ingram Content Group as Senior Software Engineer, where they created, developed, modified, and maintained highly scalable solutions as part of an Agile/SCRUM engineering team. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Springbuk as Senior Software Engineer.

Brent Scoggins obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Information Systems from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) between 1997 and 2000. Since then, they have obtained numerous certifications, including the 'Learn Ruby Course' and 'Learn Ruby on Rails Course' from Codecademy in December 2021, 'Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals' from Microsoft in June 2021, 'Software Architecture Foundations' from LinkedIn in September 2020, 'Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design' from LinkedIn in July 2020, 'Serverless Architecture' from LinkedIn in June 2020, 'Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals' from Microsoft in November 2019, 'Being an Effective Technical Communicator' from LinkedIn in October 2019, 'Docker for .NET Developers with Visual Studio' from LinkedIn in October 2019, 'Interpersonal Communication' from LinkedIn in October 2019, and 'Organization Communication' from LinkedIn in October 2019.
