Jonathan Austin

Jonathan Austin has extensive work experience in the field of product management and technology. Jonathan began their career at BBC as a Graduate R&D Engineer and later worked as an R&D Engineer and Research Technologist. Jonathan then transitioned to BBC News, where they held various roles including Project Manager, Innovation Lead, Product Manager, and finally Senior Product Manager. In 2014, they joined Springer Nature Group as the Head of Product and later served as the Director of Product Management. Jonathan then became the Interim VP Product and Platform Group before their current position as VP Engagement and Growth.

Jonathan Austin has a diverse educational background. In 1993, they began their studies at Imperial College London, where they pursued a degree in Physics With a Year in Europe. Jonathan successfully completed this program in 1997. Following their undergraduate studies, they joined The Institute of Cancer Research to further their education in Biophysics. Jonathan completed their PhD in this field in 2001.

In 2012, Jonathan obtained a certification in Product Management from Pragmatic Marketing. This certification was awarded to him in January of that year.

More recently, in 2023 and 2024, Jonathan attended Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where they earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisation Leadership. Jonathan'sfield of study during this program was Organizational Leadership.
