Tonya Forbes

Tonya holds degrees form Evangel University (Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education) and Missouri State University (Masters in Education Administration). She is a lifelong educator with 30 years of experience teaching in the Springfield Public Schools System. After retiring from the classroom, she continues to support students through her dedicated work at The Judy. Before joining SLT’s full time staff, she served as a volunteer for SLT in numerous areas and was recipient of a Springfield Regional Arts Council Ozzie Award (2017) and recognized by the City of Springfield and The Council of Churches for the Ozarks (2011) with the gift of Time Award for her work and dedication to the Arts Community. She has also served as Production Assistant and a crew member for more than 50 SLT productions. Her favorite task is to photograph each show and capture those magical moments on and off the stage. If she is ever missing, you can find her being a Nonna to her precious great niece and nephew or snapping some photo memories at Disney World.
