Elaine Hamarstrom

Elaine Hamarstrom, PhD has over 10 years of experience in medical and scientific communications. Elaine is currently working as an Associate Director of Medical Training and Development at SpringWorks Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc., including Director of GMSA Effectiveness and Training, Associate Director of GMSA Effectiveness and Training, and Associate Director of Scientific Communications. Elaine also worked as a Senior Manager of Scientific Communications at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. In addition, they have experience as a Medical Education Strategic Director and Medical Education Director in Hematology/Oncology at Medscape. Elaine has also served as the Manager of Research and Educational Development at the American Academy of Dermatology. Earlier in their career, they worked at Dowden Medical Communications Group as a Manager of Medical/Scientific Communications, Sr. Account Executive and Medical Affairs Manager, and Account Manager in Editorial Services. Elaine has also worked as a Medical Writer and Contract Medical Writer at Tricore, Inc. Furthermore, they have served as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Utah, where they conducted research, mentored students, and taught comparative medicine center lunch and learn series to animal care technicians and staff.

Elaine Hamarstrom, PhD, earned their BA in Microbiology from Miami University in 2004. Elaine then went on to pursue a PhD in Immunology from the University of Iowa, completing their studies in 2008. In August 2023, they obtained a certification as a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach from Gallup.
