Dr Catherine Winbanks

Dr. Catherine Winbanks is an experienced patent attorney and principal at Spruson & Ferguson since September 2023. Previously, Dr. Winbanks held senior associate positions at FB Rice and Spruson & Ferguson, and served as a senior associate at FPA Patent Attorneys, where expertise in the prosecution and drafting of Australian and foreign patent applications was developed. With a focus on biotechnology and medical sciences, Dr. Winbanks has also provided patentability advice and participated in opposition proceedings. Dr. Winbanks holds a Master of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne and a PhD in Medical Science from RMIT University, with a background in human biology, psychology, and business electives.
